Representing the United States in International Negotiations
Phil Duffy, senior advisor for the U.S. Global Change Research Program White House National Science and Technology Council, will present a talk October 17 based on his recent experience representing the United States in international negotiations that determined the final texts of the Summary for Policymakers of each volume of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report. Duffy will discuss the IPCC review and approval processes, and how these processes influence the content of the report and summary documents. He will then review highlights of each of the three main volumes in the context of the process that produced them.This talk is part of the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions and the University Program in Environmental Policy seminar series featuring leading experts discussing a variety of pressing environmentally focused topics.
