FILM SCREENING: "Huamulin, Boy Xiaoqiang" (Li Xinmin, 2013, 76 min, China, Chinese w/ English subtitles, DVD) / Filmmaker's words: This film is about a four year-old boy. His mother is Xiaoqun, exactly my age. I filmed Xiaoqun and her family last year. As the year went on, I found Xiaoqiang so interesting. He played and picked up rubbish together with me. I also saw old people's real lives and found that villagers were destroying the environment. My film is made of all of this. / Screened at the China Independent Film Festival, Nanjing, China, 2013 / About the Filmmaker: Li Xinmin, was born in a mountainous village in Yunnan Province in 1988. She had went to school for four years and had to stop because of financial problems. She started to work to provide for her family in the city when she was sixteen years-old. Since 2007, she works at CCD Workstation. She has completed the documentaries "Back to Huamulin" (2011), "Huamulin 2012" (2012) and "Huamulin, Boy Xiaoqiang" (2013).
