Palmis Trio: Allan Ware, clarinet; Pamela Smits, cello; Sabine Simon, piano

Program: Beethoven: Trio in B-flat Major, Op. 11 "Gassenhauer"; Brahms: Trio in a minor, Op. 114; Chopin: Introduction and Polonaise brillante in C Major, Op. 3; Bernstein: from the Sonata "for David Oppenheim"; Nino Rota: Trio for Clarinet, Cello and Piano. Allan Ware was born in Raleigh, NC, and studied at Davidson College, UNC-Chapel Hill, and the Peabody Conservatory of Music. He is the winner of numerous prizes in international music competitions, including the Grand Prix at the 4th International Chamber Music Competition in Paris, Carnegie Hall Concert Artist's Guild Competition in New York, and in the International Brahms Chamber Music Competition in Hamburg. He has performed with the Salzburger Soloists, the Ciompi, Laurentian and Faust String Quartets, the Saint-Clair Trio, Trio Lusingando and the Bremen Clarinet Quartet to name a few. Cellist Pamela Smits has toured throughout Europe and elsewhere, performing in North and South America, Antilles, Lapland, Israel, Costa Rica, Hong Kong and the US, and played recitals in the Kleine Zaal of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Meistersaal in Berlin and at the Edinburgh Festival. German pianist Sabine Simon has performed with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Dresden Philharmonic, Berlin Radio Orchestra, Rubinstein Philharmonic Orchestra Lodz, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, and under Conductors such as Antoni Wit, Zdzislaw Szostak and Dennis Russel Davies.
