Data Analytics in Business and Social Science (DABSS) Seminar
The DABSS Seminar brings together leading companies and academics to discuss advances, challenges, methods, and issues related big data analytics. Topics of interest include database management, statistical and analytical methods, market opportunities, legal and regulatory concerns, societal integration, and entrepreneurial approaches to the rise of big data. Goals of the seminar include building closer ties between academia and the private sector, linking students and corporations for educational and career opportunities, and identifying potential collaborations across sectors. The seminar meets on the first Thursday of each month during the academic year from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm in room 330 Gross Hall on the Duke University West Campus. Each meeting is comprised of two presentations, one from a corporate partner and one from an academic, on a common topic. Afterwards, participants meet informally. Lunch is provided.
