Health Disparities Research Colloquium

School of Medicine Dean Nancy Andrews and the Duke Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) are sponsoring a day-long colloquium to highlight health disparities research across the campus and facilitate new research collaborations.The colloquium will include keynote addresses from Yvonne Maddox, acting director of NIMHD; Ebony Boulware, chief of the Duke Division of General Internal Medicine; and Steve Patierno, deputy director of the Duke Cancer Institute.Students, trainees, and junior faculty can submit an abstract for a 10-minute oral presentation of their health disparities research. The six highest rated abstracts will receive a $200 gift certificate for Duke Stores. Four abstracts will be selected for presentation at the Colloquium.The Colloquium will include an exercise to foster research collaboration in a speed dating format. Presenters will briefly summarize their research and highlight opportunities for collaboration (in no more than 5 minutes/5 slides).The Colloquium is free but registration is required. Lunch is included.
