I Need a Plan: The Fundamental Steps to Create a Garden

Successful planting design uses a combination of texture, seasonality, color and size in a planting of shrubs, perennials and groundcovers to maximize beauty and minimize maintenance. Practice these skills under the guidance of Beth Rudd-Myers as she introduces you to a variety of plants and design strategies to create your own beautiful border. The classes will meet on two Tuesdays: March 24 & 31, at 6:30-9 pm at the Doris Duke Center. Participation is capped at fifteen people. This class qualifies for Home Horticulture Certificate elective courses, but participants need not be in the certificate program to register. Create a Colorful Mixed Border is part of the series "I Need a Plan: The Fundamental Steps to Create a Garden," and each section of this program will help you plan your garden. Register for one or all sections. gardens.duke.edu
