Nature Adventure Camps: Grow Your Own Food (grades K-2)

Come to camp at Duke Gardens! We have camps scheduled for spring break and all through the summer. Each week we'll explore themes with different activities, so you can come all summer to enjoy discovering nature. Programs are revised for each age group and each session so the week's activities are suitable, fun and challenging for each age and each group of children. For the week of June 15-19, the camp theme is "Nature Adventures: Grow Your Own Food." Campers will plant, harvest and taste fruits and vegetables in the Charlotte Brody Discovery Garden. They will learn how soil is made, cook with the heat of the sun and discover how food gets to your plate. Each week we will explore this theme through different plants and cooking skills. Camp hours are 9 a.m.- 1 p.m., Monday-Friday, extended day from 1-4 p.m. Arrival and pickup at Doris Duke Center. Scholarship application available upon request. Non-refundable deposit of $100 per child per week is required to reserve a spot. Full payment due 2 weeks before the start date of each camp. gardens.duke.edu
