8:45 am - 1:00 pm
Debbie Roos, North Carolina Agriculture Extension Agent, Chatham County

Pollinators are essential to our food supply and, in turn, our health. Debbie Roos, North Carolina Agriculture Extension Agent, works in Chatham County with small farmers and beekeepers, which has led her towards a growing concern about pollinator conservation. As one outcome she established demonstration pollinator gardens around Chatham County. Join us to see the garden at Chatham Mills, learn more about how to create your own pollinator garden and celebrate national Pollinator Week. Transportation provided. We will depart from the upper lot of Duke Gardens at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, to meet Debbie and tour the garden until late morning. Then a stop for lunch before returning to Duke Gardens by 1 pm. Lunch in a renovated historic mill building, at the restaurant Oakleaf. gardens.duke.edu
