Wednesday, February 25, 2015
8:15 pm - 9:15 pm

Halaqa literally means "circle" in Arabic. In this context, however, Halaqa means a study circle. These study circles are one of the many opportunities for Duke students to expand their education to environments outside the formal confines of a classroom. Topics are prepared beforehand and are decided entirely according to the interest of those willing to participate. The goal of these study circles and discussions is to create an open, inviting environment where one may have the opportunity to explore questions about Islam ranging from the deepest concerns of spirituality and religious practice to the everyday questions/ concerns. Halaqas are open to all regardless of religious affiliation.
