Relational Normativity and the Problem of Moral ObligationMorality is sometimes thought of as a domain of relational requirements, which define what we owe to each other. In this lecture I lay out the elements of relational normativity, and sketch an argument for interpreting morality in relational terms. The central idea is that this approach allows us to make sense of the status of moral considerations as presumptive requirements, grounded in our common membership in an inclusive community of equals.
