Raising Butterflies: Monarch and Eastern Swallowtails

Explore the curious lifestyle of butterflies. You will learn how to house and care for them through multiple life stages until you release them as adults. Lori Carlson, Duke Gardens docent, will discuss the four to five life stages that precede the adult butterfly emerging in all its colorful wonder.Each participant will receive a butterfly box, host plants, one species of caterpillar or chrysalis (depending upon season) and Lori's booklet of reference materials to take home.
