Reception + Artist's Talk for "Road Through Midnight: A Civil Rights Memorial"
Sponsor(s): Center for Documentary Studies (CDS)
Cost: Free
An event for an exhibition on view at CDS includes a reception and an artist's talk by photographer Jessica Ingram, who travelled across the American South, capturing the present day appearance of marked and unmarked sites that hold historical significance for the civil rights movement, including civil rights era atrocities, Klan activities, and the slave trade. "Road Through Midnight: A Civil Rights Memorial" includes thirty framed archival pigment prints as well as an audio component: oral histories at gallery listening stations. A reception will precede Ingram's talk, which will begin at 7 p.m.
