Little Corner Poetry Series

The Little Corner Poetry Series picks up the torch from the Manic Caravan and Minor American Poetry Reading Series. We welcome you to join us at The Shed in the Golden Belt district of downtown Durham.Laynie Browne is the author of seven collections of poetry and one novel. Her most recent publications include Roseate, Points of Gold (2011), and The Desires of Letters (2010), The Scented Fox, (2007, winner of the National Poetry Series), Daily Sonnets (2007) and Drawing of a Swan Before Memory (2005, winner of the Contemporary Poetry Series). Of Daily Sonnets Ron Silliman writes: "It's a stunner and a delight. A pure dose of heady oxygen" and ". . . an icon for the generation of poets who are about to show up." She has taught creative writing at The University of Washington, Bothell, at Mills College in Oakland and at the Poetry Center at the University of Arizona, where she is currently developing a new poetry-in-the-schools program for K-5 schools.
