Have you ever wondered when you saw a display what went into creating it? Every purposefully made exhibit from the window of a shopping mall to the inside of an art or science museum contains many hours of thought. Exhibitions are a process of organizing ideas and translating them into a visual language that can be understood by anyone, with any type of educational background, in a very short period of time. What goes into this process? I will discuss some case studies of past exhibitions and show how some very complex ideas were transformed into eye catching visualizations. Pretty pictures of past exhibitions including Vesalius, the Anthropocene, Sustainability and the Bloomsbury Group will be shown!
