United in Praise Gospel Choir Concert - Nelson Music Room (East Campus)

United in Praise, formerly the Modern Black Mass Choir, is a diverse student group consisting of undergraduate and graduate Duke students who profess the Christian faith. The choir is one of the oldest student groups on the campus of Duke University. During the mid-60s, a time when Duke did not openly embrace cultural and ethnic diversity, the Modern Black Mass Choir was organized in a local church for Duke's Black students. In 1972, the choir was reorganized as a Duke University student group. This year's fall concert will take place in the Nelson Music Room on East Campus and is free and open to all.
