World Food Day: Bringing Hunger Home

World Food Day: Bringing Hunger Home is an event that will start a conversation about hunger globally and locally and bring students together to make a change. At the event, students will be divided into teams to package meals that will be sent to people in need through an organization called Stop Hunger Now. Come help us reach our goal of 10,000 meals packaged! This event will be the kick-off event to a new initiative called Social Change through Service! Social Change through Service strives to bring Duke students together for the common purpose of service through team-based service events. We also hope to start meaningful conversations about the racial, cultural, religious, and social barriers that the Duke community constructs that prevents students from interacting with a diverse group of people. This event is in collaboration with Diya, the Black Students Association, Mi Gente, the Native American Students Alliance, the Center for Race Relations, Voices for Interfaith Action, Muslim Students Association, Hindu Students Association, Center for Multicultural Affairs, Duke Global Health Institute, Duke Partnership for Service, and Duke Student Government.
