Clerical Communities, Rabbinical Education and Leadership

In this two-part series, we explore leadership and clerical communities. This panel discussion will be moderated by Hayim Herring, who recently edited a book "Keeping Faith in Rabbis," and will feature Professors Barak Richman, Laura Lieber and our new Hillel Rabbi Elana Friedman. The panel will explore the nature of Jewish communities and how they have changed, and how rabbinic leadership has changed in the 21st century. Following the panel discussion, there will be a robust Q&A with the audience. There will be a lunch reception following the panel with an option to participate in book signing.A second panel, in the Spring, will feature JTS Chancellor, Arnold Eisen, and HUC Vice-Provost, Michael Marmur, with a focus on Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel.Parking will be free in the Bryan Center Parking lot (GPS Address: 135 Science Drive, Durham, NC 27710).
