Health Policy Lecture Series

The Duke University Hospital Office of Graduate Medical Education is excited to announce the 2015 - 2016 Health Policy Lecture Series.

Our first panel will explore new pharmaceutical therapies and innovations focusing on new Hep C and Cancer treatment options. Panel members will discuss broad perspectives regarding specialty pharma innovations and rising costs.

Future physicians will need an understanding of health care delivery systems, economics, payment structures, incentives and policy to become leaders. Increasingly, the role of the current and future physician will be less of a clinical technician and more of a team-leader as our health care system evolves, using a more multidisciplinary and team based model. To this end, we are offering a program that covers topics that will allow residents and fellows to acquire a baseline understanding of our health care system.

This series is intended to promote exposure to timely and critical health policy topics and promote interactions and collaboration among students and faculty across Duke University schools. All students, faculty, and trainees are invited to participate.
