Arabic Halaqa with Professor Emad Abdellatif, Winner of Best Arabic Book on the Arab Spring

Professor Emad Abdellatif (Cairo University, currently visiting at Qatar University,) considered a leading scholar of Arabic hermeneutics and religious discourse, will be the last guest presenter of the Arabic Halaqa Group. Dr. Emad's book is widely cited as the best historiographical work analyzing the discourses of the Arab spring. The book was the winner of best book on the Arab revolution (social studies category) at the Cairo International Book Fair in 2012.

Dr. Emad's halaqa presentation will be on (Analyzing Arabic Discourse: A Study on Intertextuality).

Date: Thursday, December 3rd in room 240, John Hope Franklin Center.
Time: 4 pm.

Professor Emad is attending our international workshop on the Arabic Classroom: Text, Context and Students, which will be hosted at Duke on December 4th and 5th; more details on the program schedule will be available shortly.
