Robert E. Dunne, A.K.A. Bob, is an accomplished artist who has worked with oils and pastels doing professional portraits, ads, cartooning and caricatures. His work has been represented in offices, board rooms and many private collections and he has won awards as a television art director in NYC. In recent years he taught portrait painting to students at universities in the Atlanta area.

Once inspired by the movements of the noble horse, Bob put aside portrait painting for six years to study horses in all their forms of action. His idea was to picture the horses in the middle of their activity, as if caught on the fly, to make a more convincing painting.

The beauty and majestic feel of horses caught in action can be calming and inspiring to the viewer. Quality Giclée prints (on canvas or art paper) made from the original oil paintings can be purchased for a fraction of the cost of the original, with options for preferred sizes if ordered.

Bob truly enjoys imparting his vast creative knowledge on to others. He recently wrote and illustrated a book teaching school age children a simple way to learn how to draw complex images by breaking them down to familiar shapes. This book is also available for sale as a kit that includes a sketch pad and markers to get started.

This collection of work is on display in the Morrison Exhibit Space, near Clinic 1D in the Duke Clinics Building. "Meet the Artist" on January 5,6,7, 11, 12 & 13 from noon to 2 pm.
