Pest Management in the Organic Garden - 3 sessions

Insects are essential partners in the garden, and most are welcome. Others can be a menace and should be controlled. Learn the various techniques to minimize pests while maximizing insect friends. Instructor Sarah Parsons will cover the principles of integrated pest management as well as crop rotation, intercropping, bio-controls and using non-synthetic products to grow healthy fruitful vegetable plants. Sarah has a master's in environmental management from Duke University and is a Ph.D. candidate in entomology at N.C. State University.

Dates: 3 Wednesdays, March 2, 9 & 16, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
