Come and join the Global Inequality Research Initiative (GIRI) at their "Tuesday Tea" symposium series. These are intriguing, thought-provoking conversations broadly focusing on global gender inequality. GIRI is honored to present Dr. Alondra Nelson, Dean of Social Science and professor of sociology and gender studies at Columbia University. Her most recent book, "The Social Life of DNA: Race, Reparations, and Reconciliation after the Genome" (Beacon Press, 2016), traces how claims about ancestry are marshaled together with genetic analysis in a range of social ventures. The title of her presentation is "The Social Life of DNA."
