Commerce and Culture in the Hispanic World

On Tuesday February 16th, the graduate seminar, Spanish 710: "Commerce, Culture, and Literature in Early Modern Spain," is organizing a symposium on the impact of commerce and trade in the Hispanic World. Shelly Garrigan, associate professor, Latin American Studies (NCSU) and Diana Arbaiza, assistant professor, Atlantic Studies (NCSU) will be discussing their respective research on the impact of commerce and international trade on nation building practices in Mexico and the bilateral relations between Latin America and Spain through the 19th and 20th centuries.
