Event Image
Tuesday, September 13, 2016
6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Jochen Wohlfeil, Residential Director of Duke in Berlin

Jochen Wohlfeil, The resident director of Duke in Berlin, will focus on the history of the Berliner Stadtschloss, a building that has anchored the historical center of Berlin for over 500 years. The socialist East German regime destroyed the castle in 1950, but a modern version of the magnificent building is now under construction. It has been named the Humboldt Forum and will house artefacts from the city's ethnological collections. The controversial plan, and the erection of the building itself, have provoked a heated debate about German history and how best to represent it.
