ransgression is a film about the most significant documentary filmmaker of Colombia and one of the most important Latin American filmmakers of the past 50 years, Marta Rodríguez. Rodríguez is the female director obscured from the historical narrative of the New Latin American Cinema. The film transcends the biographical aspect of a woman known for her life and work and allows for a reflection about ways of understanding the world in contextual mode. As a militant filmmaker in Colombia working from the 1960s on, the film is not only about the individual but it is about an entire generation. With incredible access, due to Restrepo's close personal and working relationship with Rodriguez for the past 15 years, the film is about friendship and complicity portrayed, with documentary material extremely thoughtful and enriching. Shot during the years 2001 to 2012, the film interweaves with photographic material of Jorge Silva, and the whole archive of the "Fundación Cine Documental Acción Social" founded by Silva and Rodríguez. With Director Fernando Restrepo
