Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions and the University Program in Environmental Policy seminar series

Stacy VanDeveer, a professor at the University of Massachusetts Boston, will present the talk "Transnational Governance Experiments: From Climate Change to Mining and the Minerals Life Cycle," on Friday, October 21, from 10-11:30 a.m. in LSRC A156.

As global and transnational governance research proliferates across a host of disciplines, topics and regions, it remains critical to avoid letting governance research get ever more "siloed" within particular subfields and topic areas. Can we develop systematic approaches to governance research that better connect governance assessment across such issues marine and air pollution, climate change, energy transitions and efficiency, extractive industries, human rights, community development and peacebuilding? VanDeveer will draw lessons from climate change governance research for application to environmental and social challenges associated with mining and minerals governance.

This talk is part of the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions and the University Program in Environmental Policy seminar series featuring leading experts discussing a variety of pressing environmentally focused topics.
