Visualization Friday Forum

This talk will discuss the use of R Shiny, an open source framework for building interactive data visualizations, to teach research methods. Over the course of the last few months, Dr. Eric Green (DGHI) and I have been developing Shiny Apps to embed in Global Health Research | Design and Methods, the online textbook he has written and uses in GLTH 371/PSY 309. This talk will discuss the motivation behind creating apps as a tool for teaching research methods and share how we've tried to reconcile the incredible power of R and Shiny with the need to create curated examples that students can use to learn various research methods concepts.
