Vince Cherico and Carlos Maldonado, GRAMMY-winning members of Arturo O'Farrill's Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble, lead a dynamic workshop for Duke students and community members on playing Afro Cuban rhythms. Presented by Duke Performances and the Duke Department of Music, in collaboration with Bradley Simmons and the Duke University Afro Cuban & Djembe Ensembles. Arturo O'Farrill & the Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble join Havana's Malpaso Dance Company to present the U.S. premiere of Dreaming of Lions, an evocation of Ernest Hemingway's classic 1952 novella, The Old Man and the Sea, on Friday, February 24 & Saturday, February 25 at Reynolds Industries Theater.
