Seminar: NEW Recovery from Wastewater Through Synergy Between Bioelectrochemical Systems and Forward Osmosis
Sponsor(s): Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE)
Resource recovery from wastewater represents a promising approach to achieve sustainable wastewater management. Traditional recovery of energy can be accomplished by anaerobic treatment. Water may be recovered by using micro/ultrafiltration treatment. Herein, an innovative method that integrates forward osmosis (FO) with bioelectrochemical systems (BES) will be introduced to achieve NEW recovery (NEW: nutrients, energy and water). FO is considered as a low fouling membrane technology for recovering high quality water from various water sources.....
