The Archive Literary Festival: Poetry Remix Workshop

Please join us for the second event of the Archive Literary Festival! Poetry Remix Night will be a workshop style, group writing event centered around making comical, satirical, or serious poetical "remixes" of famous works of literature, movies, pop culture occurrences, or popular world events. Examples of possible works: I'm Nobody! Who Are You?" Bible stories, political speeches, Miley Cyrus at the 2013 VMAs, Terminator 2. A group of poets will be invited to perform their own poetry remixes to give participants an example of the style of work. Participants will then be given time to brainstorm, collaborate, and write in groups. Participants are encouraged to bring YouTube videos, movie clips, or literature works that will give some background on the pieces that their poems will be parodying. At the end of the event participants will be encouraged to share their pieces! Food and refreshments will be available to enjoy.
