Dinosaur skeletons. Pottery. Mummies. Ancient tools. Forensic science. Hands-on replicas of rare or fragile objects. Mixed reality experiences. These are just a very few of the items that can be scanned and uses that can be made using high resolution 3D scanning. In 2016, The Duke Digital Initiative (DDI) funded an Artec Spider scanner for a faculty project, and that scanner is now available for use by the Duke community through the Innovation Co-Lab. In addition, there are other scanners and software at Duke that you can use! Come learn about the Artec, Geomagic, Structure, and 3D Systems scanners; how you can make use of any of them for your Duke projects; and how to decide which one best meets your needs. Need some ideas beforehand? Scroll to the "Artec 3D Scanners and Applications" section of this site: https://www.artec3d.com/portable-3d-scanners/artec-spider
