Research Town Hall

The next Duke-wide Research Town Hall will feature Vice Provost for Research Dr. Larry Carin providing an overview of "big data" opportunities and initiatives at Duke, followed by a panel discussion of big data in action. This panel will feature three faculty from the Nicholas School - Drs. Heather Stapleton, Joel Meyer, Richard Di Giulio - as well as Dr. Ed Levin (School of Medicine) and Dr. Mark Weisner (Pratt). Their discussion will cover how a grass-roots effort led to a robust research effort across Duke in environmental health, how they approach research quality, rigor and reproducibility in their individual laboratories and as collaborative groups, and how their experiences could apply to researchers in other fields, too. The event will be webcast, but only those attending in person will be able to ask questions and enjoy the refreshments provided. All at Duke are welcome to attend.
