"Silence Sam" Fine Cut Film Screening

Silence Sam is a student-led documentary film following the most-recent movement to remove the confederate monument from UNC-Chapel Hill's doorstep. Part spoken-word poetry, part journalism, the film explores the systemic silencing of student activism by university administrators. The event will feature a fine cut of the film followed by a discussion with the student filmmakers and impact producers of the film and an opportunity for the audience to give feedback as the team works towards finishing the project. This event is sponsored by the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University and is free and open to the public.
