Anne Wilkes Tucker

The Nasher Museum and 2017 Click! Photography Festival co-present an evening devoted to the collecting and presenting of photography. Join us at 5:30 PM for a portfolio walk among 20 artists whose work was chosen for review by curators, gallerists, publishers and collectors, as part of this year's month-long festival. See the work from their portfolios, meet the artists and reviewers-even arrange to make a purchase.

At 7 PM, renowned curator Anne Wilkes Tucker will give a free public talk about her life's work. In 1976, Anne became founding curator of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's photography department and helped the museum acquire 35,000 photographs made on all seven continents. She organized or co-curated more than 40 exhibitions, most with accompanying catalogues, including surveys on the Czech avant-garde, the history of Japanese photography and the history of war photography. She has also contributed more than 150 articles to magazines, books and other catalogues and has lectured throughout the world. Among her many honors, fellowships and awards, she was selected in 2001 as "American's Best Curator" by Time magazine.
