Rubenstein Arts Center Lounge, Rm. 102
In just a decade, JACK Quartet has become one of the most enterprising and energized new music powerhouses in the world. These "superheroes of the new music world" (The Boston Globe) pursue an expanded classical repertoire, both by performing works from pivotal twentieth-century composers in sharply designed programs and by collaborating with essential living composers. JACK begins the second year of its two-year residency at Duke with new work by Austrian composer Georg Fredrich Haas, the Ninth Quartet, written to be performed in the dark.
