The Center for Race Relations is excited to announce BLACK BODIES, WHITE ENTERTAINMENT. A panel discussion moderated by Dr. Martin P. Smith, Assistant Professor of Education, accompanied by selected Black Athletes: JT Giles-Harris, Duke Men's Lacrosse; Kyra Lambert, Duke Women's Basketball; Damani Neal, Duke Football; and Alexis Joseph, Duke Women's Lacrosse.

We hope to bring up the discussion started by California's new bill, "Fair Pay to Play," and the potential effects it has on the remainder of athletes' college careers. Many times, conversations around college athletes' pay are centered around College Administrators, Coaches, and top NCAA Officials, so they fail to include actual athletes' perspectives. This panel hopes to amplify those Black Student- Athletes' voices to hear their thoughts on a topic that has strong implications on their lives. Additionally, we hope to dive deeper into the argument made in The Atlantic article by Jemele Hill: "Top-tier black college athletes should take their talents to historically black institutions."

We hope you will join us!

Dinner will consist of Guasaca followed by dessert, Bundt Cakes.
