Raúl Ferrera-Balanquet

Ferrera-Balanquet's new book reviews a number of exhibitions and cultural products developed by transnational political identities under the focus of decolonial thought. By interweaving subjective experiences and oral expressions, it aims to imagine the effects of authors such as: Gloria Anzaldúa; Monica Mayer; Cherri Moraga; Enrique Dussel; Walter Mignolo and Rolando Vazquez; Antonio Prieto; Ramón Saldivar and Edouard Glissant'. And their influence on the artistic practices in the Americas.

It also examines curatorial projects such as: Indigeneity | Decoloniality | @rt (2014) and the Decolonial Aesthetics (2011), exhibition and workshop series organized by The Center for Global Studies and the Humanities at Duke University, as well as the writing of the Decolonial Aesthetics (I) Manifesto by the Transnational Decolonial Institute that took place at Duke on 2011.
