Grand Opening Party for the Rubenstein Arts Center
Celebrate the grand opening of the Ruby! The entire arts center will come alive for this special occasion featuring music, Monuts, and swag. Stop in for performances by Small Town Records student bands, student dance groups, and algorithm-driven instruments by composer Scott Lindroth, Duke's Vice Provost for the Arts. See Biscuit Kitchen, an interactive pop-op art installation by Raleigh artist Bill Thelen and What is Home?, a student art exhibition organized by duArts; make a screen print with Durham artist Bill Fick and DJs from WXDU; and check out 3D printing and laser cutting in the Ruby's Co-Lab makerspace. Leading-edge Australian choreographer Antony Hamilton and sound artist and dancer Alisdair Macindoe will also offer a sneak peek of MEETING, the Duke Performances premiere in the Ruby.
