Story+ Final Presentations

Story+ is a new summer program sponsored by Franklin Humanities Institute along with Bass Connections and Versatile Humanists @ Duke. In this pilot year, five project teams of undergraduate students and graduate student mentors developed skills across multiple platforms to tell stories from research. Some of our teams work closely on a project with a faculty member or archivists at Duke; others with external partners like the NC Justice Center or RTI International. With the guidance of their graduate mentors, the first Story+ cohort has accomplished a great deal during this six-week sprint - for example, crafting multimedia timelines from historical research, curating a digital exhibit from Duke University Library's advertising archives, developing a database to trace the genealogy of a 9th century ancient Greek dictionary, and drafting a policy memo on the current political struggle to raise the minimum wage.

To hear more about the Story+ students' projects, join the teams for a public presentation of their work at 11am on Wednesday, June 28, at the Ahmadieh Family Lecture Hall in Bay 4 of Smith Warehouse. Lunch will be served afterwards; please RSVP to sarah.rogers@duke.edu for the head count.
