Wellness Art Gallery Opening Reception

Join the Student Wellness Center for the grand opening of our Wellness Art Gallery. We will be showcasing artwork from two students in the class of 2021 where they illustrate their wellness journey from pre-orientation to mid-way through their first semester.

Meet the Artists:

Greta Chen '21:

An Asian from the South, Greta loves teriyaki chicken and fried chicken equally. Her tendency to get overwhelmed by emotions has led her to express these feelings through visual arts and creative writing. Devoted to capturing the moments that make people human, Greta focuses on depicting the amazing people she meets in her life who love boldly and care deeply.

Shailen Palmer '21

Shailen is a Duke first-year interested in neuroscience, visual arts, and creative writing. Shailen has been drawing for as long as he can remember under the guidance of his school art teachers. He describes his artwork as surrealist and psychological. Along with two friends, Shailen co-runs ObviousTreehouse, a media company that designs stickers, t-shirts, and album covers.
