2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Artist Carole Baker presents her interactive exhibit, Mary: The Paper Doll Project. Comprised of four life-sized "paper dolls" the project presents different cultural depictions of the Virgin Mary and allows viewers to interchange the outer layers of the dolls. The result is a fascinating exploration of the universality and particularity of Marian manifestations. The artist talk will be a conversation about the roles these images have played and continue to play in the religious imagination.
The talk will be held in Memorial Chapel (the smaller chapel inside Duke Chapel) at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, immediately following the annual Duke Chapel by Candlelight Christmas Open House.
