The public is invited to a dialogue between former Mayor of Houston, TX Annise Parker and Duke professor of history Adriane Lentz-Smith, as the Kenan Institute for Ethics presents its 2018/2019 discussion series "The Ethics of Now."

Annise Parker is an American politician and the sixty-first Mayor of Houston, TX. Not only was Mayor Parker one of only two women to serve as mayor of Houston, she was also the first openly gay mayor of a major U.S. city. In 2010 Time Magazine named Mayor Parker one of the 100 most influential people in the world. She currently serves as CEO and President of the LGBTQ Victory Fund and Victory Institute and a Fellow at the Doerr Institute for New Leaders and Professor in the Practice at Rice University.
