5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Laura Nenzi

This workshop will explore the particular challenges in writing life stories of women. Laura Nenzi, Professor of History at U. Tennessee, Knoxville, is the author of The Chaos and Cosmos of Kurosawa Tokiko: One Woman's Transit from Tokugawa to Meiji Japan. After a brief presentation by Laura of the challenges she confronted and how she tackled them, the workshop will explore selected archival sources and discuss their implications for developing narratives of women's lives. The workshop is open to all and should be of particular interest to graduate students and faculty in the humanities.
