Writing Home: A workshop in the spirit of Poetry for the People for thinking, reading, and creating in community about home

In the spirit of Marcus Garvey's and June Jordan's community-centered poetry work, Writing Home is an invitation to think, read, and create in community about home in Durham, presented by the Representing Migration Humanities Lab.

Together we will:

- think about the power of our stories
- read poems of "home" in its many forms
- think about our lives and dreams in Durham
- write! draw! create!
- be in community
- share our powerful stories

Facilitated by Nicole Higgins and Jessica Covil.
This event will take place in the Rubenstein Arts Center at Duke University Lounge. It is free and open to the public. All are welcome and parking will be available.

Please RSVP to kel32@duke.edu or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/751159885284864/ ; all are welcome regardless of RSVP.
