Small Talk - It's a Big Deal

Increase your comfort level navigating informal small talk conversations in academic, professional and social settings. During this workshop, you will learn the conventions of conversation, including greetings, strategies for beginning and ending conversations, appropriate small talk topics, techniques for keeping a conversation going, and signals that a conversation is not being well received. You will engage in practice conversations with multiple partners and will be given ideas for ways to engage in small talk informally on campus.
