Dr. John Rich
Wednesday, February 10, 2021
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Dr. John Rich, Professor and former Chair of the Department of Health Management and Policy at the Drexel Dornsife University School of Public Health; Co-Director of the Drexel Center for Nonviolence and Justice

Student National Medical Association, Duke School of Medicine Chapter
presents:

Celebrating Black History Month

This Black History Month will continue to provide our institution with a unique opportunity to commemorate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by celebrating the achievements of those who fought for equality, while reminding ourselves of current inequalities and the necessary work that needs to be done. Most importantly, we hope this month highlights the tradition of service and advocacy at Duke School of Medicine.

Dr. Rich will address violence and trauma in the Black community, specifically African American men in urban settings. He will challenge attendees to think deeply about the relationship between racism, inequity, and physical and mental health. This conversation will be moderated by Annise Weaver, Associate Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Administrative Manager for Duke Center for Adolescent and Young Adult Substance Use Treatment.
