Vocal music of 17th-century Italy, featuring works by Strozzi, Merula, and Frescobaldi. Featuring Laurie Monahan, voice (Berklee College of Music), Catherine Liddel, theorbo & baroque guitar (Boston University), and Laura Jeppesen, bass viola da gamba & violin (Wellesley College). *Pre-concert lecture by Claire Fontijn (Ph.D. '94), Phyllis Henderson Carey Professor of Music at Wellesley College. This concert is presented in association with the Nasher Museum's exhibit "The Medici's Painter: Carlo Dolci and 17th-Century Florence."
