VFF: Visualizations in architectural design
Webcast: Link
The architectural profession uses many modes of representation. Over the course of a project, the use of different media and types of visualization helps to facilitate communication with all involved stakeholders. In various feedback loops the architect discusses the design through sketches, diagrams, collages, physical models, plans and renderings. Not only do these visualizations evolve from the first idea or concept sketch to very detailed drawings, they also incorporate the information gathered in the process. This talk discusses in a couple of examples what information is necessary to conceive a building and how visualizations help the architect to conceptualize the raw data and convert it into built space.
