Tuesday, October 03, 2017
1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Mayra Cervantes, Duke University

Predicted more than 43 years ago as an immediate consequence of the existence of neutral currents in neutrino-induced interactions, Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus scattering (CEVnS) had eluded
detection until very recently. I will discuss the recent results from the COHERENT collaboration that has made the first observation of (CEvNS), and its relevance in particle physics, nuclear physics and astrophysics. In addition I will discuss the path ahead for the COHERENT collaboration, our current and future physics program.
