The Graduate Scholars Colloquium provides a site of vibrant intellectual exchange and engagement for graduate students across the disciplines engaged in the study of gender and its multiple social, cultural, political and material implications. This colloquium is presented by Tessa Nunn, PhD candidate, Romance Studies Department presents "Simone de Beauvoir & the Dancing Project", response by Dr. Thomas DeFrantz, African &African American Studies Department, Program in Dance, Theartre Studies

Nunn examines Beauvoir's study of personal freedom through dance and recognition of the dancing Other, Nunn's scholarship brings together Beauvoirian scholarship and dance studies to revalue dance's political and social possibilities.
